The Challenge

Ivanhoé Cambridge and Manulife partnered as Maison Manuvie’s owners, to bring a new standard in office space to Montreal.  The prestigious building was designed to meet the current and future needs of tenants.   

Realizing this vision required a multidisciplinary team of experts across all areas of design, construction, and technology.  

The seamless integration of building systems, technology backbone and IP plan made this 28-story building a Smart success for owners and tenants.    

Attain was engaged to ensure that the technology solutions for the building were properly planned, integrated and implemented to achieve the bold vision for the space. More specifically, to design the network and fibre backbone for building PCs, phones and Wifi 

Attain’s Solution

From the early phases of the project, Attain met with key stakeholders to ensure that technology solutions were designed and implemented in line with the owner’s vision for the building.    

Attain provided a fully integrated, agile technology solution with a common backbone for over 35 basic building systems.  The full solution included all aspects of building connected systems, including:  

  • A full intelligent building backbone,  
  • An IP schema plan,  
  • Designed an SLA for building operations. 
  • Outsourced IP management, 
  • Connection of all carriers, all wireless and all building systems (security, building management, telecommunication, IT, utilities) to a single building infrastructure.  

Work included negotiation with each carrier, supervision of all trades, commissioning, and tenant coordination.   Attain’s consultative and technology-agnostic approach ensured the right scope and solution and helped mitigate cost and timing risks for the client.

  • The building is the first one in Quebec to achieve Wired Platinum certification   
  • Maison Manuvie received the highest BOMA BEST® certification in November 2019
